Concrete Machinery was founded in the early 1980s by Raymond Arthur Hawman. After completing his apprenticeship with Barlows, Raymond began his career at Eclipse Engineering, where he worked his way up to National Field Manager for static batch plants and related concrete equipment. Deciding early on to go out on his own, he initially established Masterscale, specializing in balancing and refurbishing aggregate weigh scales for concrete mixers and bins.
With concrete equipment as the core focus, Raymond soon built long-standing relationships with all the major construction supergroups, buying, reconditioning, and trading both new and used machinery.
In the late 1990s, his son Shandon Hawman joined the business for a three-year stint to learn the trade. Building and Construction Machinery was subsequently formed, trading until 2006 when Concrete Machinery was formally registered.
